Home Free

Yes, I'm home and I love it! Time for baking, shopping, wrapping presents, singing, watching Christmas movies, and hanging out with family and friends, so on that note, peace out, I've got stuff to do.

Delightful Snow

It was late last night, say 1am-ish and Brandon was about to leave my house (otherwise known as the 'Jen's Study Room' cause everyone comes over to get away from the dorms and study) and as he put his coffee cup in the sink, he gasped and grabbed me. He led me to the kitchen, hands over my eyes, to the sink and then uncovered my eyes. What I saw made me jump for joy!! SNOW!!! And not just any snow, the big, fluffy flakes! I immediately ran outside to play!! Oh thank you God for gorgeous snow!!!

Exalt dinner

Tonight I cooked dinner for my fellow worship coharts. We dined in the front living room and we were serviced my Ms. Dignal and Ms. Howard....my fellow housemates. Sarah set the table and placed mugs at everyone's place because, as she put it, "the theme is Baby it's cold outside." Our evening was filled with laughter and some pretty good quotes. Steve was labeled 'Pappy' as he cut the lasagna for us all. He also prayed for the food. Let me give you a piece of the prayer: "God, thank you for friends and fellowship..........I can't think of any other 'f-words'...." Later, after singing happy birthday to Jon, Steve made a comment that he could wish for a really, really ridiculously good looking girlfriend, only instead of 'looking' it came out as 'licking'. Then some reference to his fiance was made and he commented that that was after the wedding........oh geez.
On a more serious note, Exalt has become one of my favorite things during the week, if not my favorite. It's my oasis. I get to not only lead others in worship, but worship myself with some amazing people. What could be better at the end of the day than taking an hour to sing praise to our God and King? Absolutely nothing.

It's that time of year!

In the past two days I have succeeded in watching 3 Christmas movies, baking 7 dozen Christmas sugar cookies and preparing dough for yet another baking adventure. I think somewhere in my lineage I'm related to a fellow named Claus. I seriously belong at the North Pole. Today Sarah and I are going to work on the Ginger Barnes House. She has already constructed the cardboard framework so now it's time to put the graham crackers on, decorate, create the windows and even the front pond. I will also finish my chocolate coffee ribbons while nibbling some of Chris and Amy Jo's peppermint chocolate bark they made last night. SHE house is where it's at :)
